Zelaya Guevara

Zelaya just turned 14 this last February, is the "middle" of three girls, and daughter of Alexx Guevara and Charlie Curtis-Guevara. Zelaya was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia, known as Multi-phenotypic Leukemia just shortly after her 2nd birthday in 2012. While initial treatment seemed to be successful, Zelaya would go on to relapse right at the end of treatment, 3 more times between 2013 and 2016, requiring the need for a bone marrow transplant to save her life. There were no matching bone marrow donors to be found in the United States. Just before transplant was to be taken off the schedule, and Zelaya was to be sent home on Hospice, a perfect match was found in another country. On Sept2, 2016, Zelaya received her lifesaving transplant and has been thriving, leukemia free for the last 7 years.

Unfortunately, In October of 2023 suffered a massive seizure. She had a brain tumor pushing her brain to one side of her head. Zelaya and her mom relocated to Salt lake City to begin 6 weeks of daily treatment of radiation and chemotherapy at primary Children's Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute. On March 1st, Zelaya began intense chemotherapy for the continued treatment of the brain cancer.

Zelaya has the biggest heart, and her sisters are her world. She loves playing with her dogs, chickens, and cats. Zelaya insisted on using her "Make A Wish" to help survivors of Hurricane Maria. Caring for families in Puerto Rico who were still without clean water, food, and housing.

Zelaya's family is so grateful for all of the love, prayers and support from family, friends, and community. They truly appreciate everyone who has been there for them and their entire family, as they navigate this journey of secondary cancer.

Cliff Stubbs

Cliff Stubbs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2024. Cliff was born and raised in Parowan and built his life here with his wife Amanda and their four children. Cliff has been a part of the farming and ranching community in Southern Utah for his entire life, raising sheep with his father, Alan, and now raising cattle with the help of his sons . Cliff started his construction business in his early twenties doing excavation and concrete work. He is known as a smooth operator and can run a trackhoe unlike any other. He has assembled quite the crew of semi drivers, operators, farm boys, and hard workers. He is known for his quality work and willingness to help, especially when others are in need. Cliff digs deep in everything he does and will move mountains to help someone out.

Cliff is the rock of his family, making everything happen. He is a mountain goat that can out walk everyone especially if he can hear his hounds barking. He takes horse rides to a whole different level. His daughter, Allie's, most favorite thing is to ride horses with Cliff. He is the number one fan on the sideline watching his boys play football. Cliff is currently serving as the Bishop of is LDS ward. He is a great example to his son who is currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alaska and another son who recently received his call to Michigan and is preparing to leave this summer.

Family and helping others are the heart of who Cliff is as a person. We are grateful we have the opportunity to help the Stubbs family.
